Jemamae A. Ovalo won the coveted Mutya ng Magpet title besting seven other young ladies during the pageant night held at the Municipal Gymnasium August 11.

Aside from being crowned as Mutya ng Magpet, Ovalo was also adjudged Best in Tahiti Attire.

Officials and residents of Barangay Doles are hopeful a brick factory that will soon rise in the village will be their vehicle to a better quality of life.

The brick factory project, a joint endeavor of the Doles ISF Upland Farmers Association, Municipal Government of Magpet, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Science and Technology, Technology Resource Center and the Office of the 2^nd Congressional District of Cotabato, was formally launched July 21.

Ten young ladies will vie this year for the honor of being crowned Mutya ng Magpet.

The Search for Mutya ng Magpet 2009, part of the town’s 46^th Foundation Anniversary celebration from August 7- 13, promises to be different according to this year’s search committee.

A host of activities meant to highlight Magpet’s agriculture and tourism have been set as the town gears up for its 46^th Foundation Anniversary on August 13.

 An Agro Fair featuring the various products from the different barangays of Magpet will be again among this year’s top activities, while a white water river tubing adventure and a mountain bike race will provide nature and adventure lovers a taste of Magpet’s exciting natural features.

Magpet-North Cotabato--  An outstanding student from Magpet National High School was chosen by Magpet LGU to be its “One Town-One Scholar” program recipient this school year.

Agnes Myra Farre, class valedictorian of MNHS whose scholastic and academic records passed the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) qualifications and requirements will avail the benefits of the program that includes free tuition fee and a semestral allowance equivalent to at least P15,000.
